Purple Heart Services Knowledge Base

What is Spark?

Spark is an XMPP instant messaging program used by Purple Heart Services to maintain a constant and collaborative stream of communication throughout our duty days.

With Spark, all departments of Purple Heart Services have instant access via text to other members of their department, as well as other staff.  Much faster than email and less obtrusive and time consuming than using a telephone, each user can seek direction, ask a question, or send a file with just a few key strokes.

Although there are many instant messaging programs out on the market today, Purple Heart Services has a policy that users cannot have any program with VoIP capabilities currently running while they are in one of our dialing platforms, such as Montage.  Skype, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AIM, etc must not only be marked as "offline" but must be exited completely during work or training hours.
