Windows Vista / Windows 7 Compatibility

Win 7, Vista, or XP?
We currently allow students to enter our program using Win 7, Vista, or XP.  MacOS, UNIX/Linux/BSD, and older Microsoft Windows Operating systems are not supported.

Compatibility
All applications we utilize are compatible with Windows 7, Vista, and XP, with minor modifications.

Vista / Win 7
UAC –
The UAC (User Account Control) located in the Control Panel has to be "disabled" during the initial load of some software when used in conjunction with our WebTrain Remote Control Software. It is recommended that UAC be turned back on afterwards.  It has been noted that some users with it off suffer various WebTrain and IE crashes.  If you experience this, try re-enabling UAC.

Internet Explorer Protected Mode –
Protected Mode in Internet Explorer (Security Settings) must be disabled in order to properly run WebTrain.  This must be kept in the disabled mode.

Sleep Mode –
When the Vista PC goes to sleep, it also kills the TCP session, so any Montage session will attempt to reconnect after the user has re-logged back onto the network.  By default, the Power Option in Vista is set to one hour.  Our suggestion is to have this set to "Never" since majority of the agents use Desktop computers and manually shut down their machines at the end of the day.
