What will my training schedule look like?

A class's actual schedule varies day by day (as to what hour their instructional classes are) but all mornings begin regardless of class assignment in homeroom which lasts about 5 minutes. Then each group of students (your class) will either report to an instructional class or to another part of the VBTC for hands-on training.  Each class of students receives a 45 minute morning class and a 45 minutes afternoon class with the remainder of the day spent practicing what you have learned in class. The day is broken up by scheduled break times (listed in your training calendar) to allow students to refresh their minds and bodies during their full training day.  These break times are strategically designed to give you a break approximately every 1-2 hours throughout the day.  You will also receive a lunch period which is from 2:00pm-2:30pm EST regardless of which class you are assigned to.

Here is an example of a typical day for one of our classes:

The training day is 8 hours long and you get paid for all breaks, including lunch, but NOT for any time you don't spend in training. For example, even if you have authorized VA or civilian medical/dental appointments, you will NOT get paid. Training stipends are received only for times spent actively in training.
