In the Classroom
If in the classroom (and you have an emergency), please send an instant message to the instructor through Spark. If your Spark is inoperable please use the chat feature in Skype or the private chat feature in the classroom to minimize class disruption.
Classroom Communication Procedures
1. Spark
2. Skype (chat)
3. Private chat in classroom
In Montage
If in Montage, please use Spark as your first method of contact. If your Spark is inoperative, use the chat/message feature within Montage. (Note: Skype is not allowed to be running while you are in Montage).
Not in Classroom or Montage
If not in the classroom, nor in Montage (an example of this is if you lose your ISP or have a major technical issue), your order of contact is as follows:
1. Spark
2. Skype (chat)
3. Telephone (in case you lose your ISP and cannot use the first two)
Staff:
If a catastrophic failure occurs the staff will try to contact all students via the following methods:
1. Spark
2. Skype (chat)
3. Classroom or Montage
4. Email
Always be vigilant and expect to receive communication via one of these routes. If you do NOT receive any communication and it has been longer than 5 minutes please reach out to one of your classmates to ensure you are in the know of what steps you should be taking.
